UFO TEAM PROBES A55 SIGHTINGS
UFO investigators are back at work after mysterious sightings in the skies above Littleton and Chrisleton.
Director of the Winsford-based British UFO Studies Centre, Eric
Morris, sent two investigators to the area after reports of a
cylindrical object surrounded by lights was seen over the A55.
"We were contacted by the parents of a 15 year old schoolgirl, who was doing her homework last Thursday night and looked out of the window and saw the object," said Mr Morris.
He added: "We have received similar reports and we believe it may be connected to an almost identical sighting in Wrexham last year.
The 30 strong group of UFO experts conduct weekly skywatches in the Chester area and report that they see on average 20 unidentified
objects a month.
"We can't explain why but it seems the skies over Chester are very
busy," said Mr Morris.
Strange things began to happen as Mr Morris went to investigate the reported sighting.
"As I approached the area my car radio went dead and then started
emitting morse code like noises," he said. "Later the radio worked
fine again."
While investigating UFO sightings in Wrexham last year the group also discovered crop circles in fields close to last weekend's sightings.
The group is now planning to measure any increase in radiation levels in the area.
"Our eventual aim is to gather evidence about the activity in the area that the authorities cannot deny." said Mr Morris.
The British UFO Studies Centre is appealing for anyone in the
Littleton or Christleton areas who may have seen something strange in the sky last Thursday at about 10.15pm to contact Eric Morris on 01606
553116.
And be sure to let reporter Phil Green know of your sightings on 01244
340151.
Baffled readers continue to report sightings of strange lights in the sky - but they could be nothing more extra-terrestrial than a hi-tech promotional gimmick by a Chester nightspot.
Dozens of sightings over the past fortnight coincide with a
spectacular light show by Raphael's nightclub in Love Street, which had a 4,000 watt spotlamp mounted on its roof.
The Italian designed light, called the Tracer 4000, projects a single, high intensity beam into the night sky.
The Chester firm which markets the device, Smithfield Electronics,
says a rotating disc inside the lamp can give the impression of
multiple circles of light moving across the clouds.

MYSTERY LIGHTS IN THE SKY
Gourock residents living in Gateside Gardens reckon they saw a UFO
over Pennyfern in the early hours of yesterday. Several residents
reported seeing a bright spinning object, which appeared to have bits coming off it, between midnight and 1 a.m. yesterday. The Civil
Aviation Authority say they have no knowledge of the incident.

CHASE IS A UFO HOTSPOT - COUPLE
A Birmingham couple want to hear from folk who have seen UFOs flying in the Chase area.
Rob and Marilyn Aldworth from Erdington want to hear from anyone who has seen anything suspicious in the skies over the Chase.
The couple, who represent UFO spotting group Quest International say the area is a UFO sighting hotspot.
They say a number of triangular flying objects have recently been
reported from all over the country. Anyone with information should
contact them by writing to 153 Holly Lane, Erdington, Birmingham B24
9LA or telephone 0121 681 6344.

ME AND MY GOD
Reg Presley talks to Frances Welch.
Reg Presley, the leader of the Troggs, believes we are but playthings of Martians. "It's like humans exploring micro-organisms. They call it work, but its really entertainment. What do the Martians do if they're two million years ahead of us? They come to visit us for fun."
Presley - born Reginald Maurice Ball - believes the Martians give us
"kick starts" every 2000 years and that they sent us Christ to bring us to order. "Before Jesus and that set-up, man was a bit cruel. We'd kill just because it suited us. The Romans were the worst offenders."
"Then Jesus came with all those miracles. Easy-peasy. Two thousand
years before that they gave us another kick start with the wheel."
The Presley proclamations are rendered additionally surreal by his
rich Hampshire burr. He believes we're due for another kick start, the nature of which will probably be revealed in "corrrn cirrrcles". He has high hopes that a cobweb pattern revealed earlier this year is
prefigurement of something mysterious. "It was absolutely beautiful.
But what does it mean? God knows," he says, and then, remembering that he is an atheist, adds: "God knows! Oh! That's a good one!"
His song Love Is All Around (recorded by Wet Wet Wet as the theme of Four Weddings And A Funeral) was originally inspired by a religious song by The Joy Strings. But Presley puts its recent success down to the PR of the Matians.
"Because I'm in a high profile situation people are listening to what I'm saying about crop circles. Six years ago they wouldn't take any notice."
"Do you hear anything funny about the names of the places where the crop circles have been appearing: Winchester, Warminster and Wantage?
Yes, its all Ws, Win, War and Want!"
We progress from the phenomenon of the WS to the "Water Connection".
"In 91, 3.5 million gallons of water disappeared from a fish farm in Andover. Where did it go? I worked it out on my computer. It would
have taken 11.5 days for all the firemen in Andover to shift it...Now Wet Wet Wet do my record. Is that a coincidence?"
Presley was born and grew up in Andover. His parents were
non-practising Anglicans and who nonetheless persuaded Reg to attend Sunday School run by the Salvation Army. "I think I believed in God when I was a child. My main problem was who made God? But I do believe in the teachings of Christ, like the Ten Commandments."
Mindful of Presley growling Wild Thing in the Sixties, I wonder how Christ's teachings squared with the Love Generation. "What about free love and Thou shalt not commit adultery?" I ask.
"I think that the Commandment is the least important. Society's
attitude is very odd. Imagine not allowing people to be shown making love on the telly."
Presley's image is at variance with reality. He has been happily
married to Brenda for 34 years, although she continues to hedge her bets over the crop circles. "She knows something is going on," he
says.
He has had better luck with The Troggs bassist, who enjoyed a "very close encounter" with a UFO five years ago, outside Andover. Presley's own most recent sighting was two years ago when he persuaded a camera crew to accompany him on a watch in Wiltshire. "I saw this elliptical light the size of a crescent moon. But the crew didn't bring their
cameras out because they didn't want to get them wet."
"Might the UFOs......(unreadable text)...."
"Oh, I can't buy that. I think that God is the sum total of humans.
I've been chewing it over in my brain."
"Did you know, the Sphinx was made by Zulus from Mars? Its chin is 14 percent too large for a Caucasian so he must have been black. People laugh and say the Zulus could only build mud huts. Now they've found a face on Mars just like the Sphinx."
I approach the subject of the after life with some trepidation...
unlike Presley. "I know we're made up of electricity and I believe
that electricity stays in the atmosphere," he muses, "yet we're
earthed. I mean, when we have a bath we're still alive afterwards
arn't we?"

Subject: Armin Shimerman Radio Interview
Armin Shimerman (Quark) was one of the guests on the Ron Sedgie (sic?)
nationwide radio show on Saturday November 4th. Among the more
interesting things he said:
*He had always thought the he would remain a stage actor and not do TV or movies.
* A lady from St. Clair, Minnesota had seen the TV guide issue with his character Quark on the cover, and irately wrote to the producers.
"I think it's horrible that you're using deformed people to promote this TV show!" They called her, and explained that it was all due to the makeup. "Well, that makeup didn't help, did it?" was her
response.
*His makeup as Quark takes 2 hours to put on and 50 minutes to remove.
The Ferengi teeth are quite painful, and in fact are doing serious
damage to his jaw. While his makeup is being put on/off, he often
practices/reworks his lines/scenes, often with other actors.
*He discussed the upcoming episode, "Little Green Men. We travel
back in time to the 1940's on Earth. It's an homage to the Roswell, New Mexico spaceship sightings."
