The first object that I saw was obviously not an airplane, as I see them everyday and It caught my full attention because it darted away so quickly. I looked at my friend and said "that was weird" and told her I might have just seen a UFO. She turned around, but it was gone.

'I was on duty when an object came over and hovered directly over the site.

'The missiles shut down - ten Minuteman [nuclear] missiles. And the same thing happened at another site a week later. There's a strong interest in our missiles by these objects, wherever they come from. I personally think they're not from planet Earth.'

So, I Googled "South American Secret City" and found references to a rather contemporary secret city which involved Tesla, Marconi, flying saucers, death rays, and other sci-fi-like elements.

MARCONI was given the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1909 jointly with KARL FERDINAND BRAUN, who made important modifications which considerably increased the range of the first Marconi transmitters.

Like Tesla, Marconi was a mysterious man in his later years and was known to perform exotic experiments, including some in anti-gravity, aboard his yacht Electra. Marconi's yacht was a floating super-laboratory, from which he sent signals into space and lit lights in Australia in 1930. He did this with the aid of an Italian physicist named LANDINI by sending wave train signals through the earth, much as Tesla had done in Colorado Springs.

In June of 1936 Marconi demonstrated to Italian Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini a wave gun device that could be used as a defensive weapon. In the 1930s such devices were popularized as death rays as in a Boris Karloff film of the same name. MARCONI demonstrated the ray on a busy highway north of Milan one afternoon.

Mussolini had asked his wife Rachele to also be on the highway at precisely 3:30 in the afternoon. Marconi's device caused the electrical systems in all the cars, including Rachele's, to malfunction for half an hour, while her chauffeur and other motorists checked their fuel pumps and spark plugs. At 3:35 all the cars were able to start again. Rachele Mussolini later published this account in her autobiography.

Mussolini was quite pleased with Marconi's invention. However, it is said that POPE PIUS XI learned about the paralyzing rays and took steps to have Mussolini stop Marconi's research.

According to Marconi's followers, Marconi then, after faking his own death, took his yacht to South America in 1937.

Ninety-eight scientists were said to have gone to South America where they built a city in an extinct volcanic crater in the southern jungles of Venezuela. In their secret city, financed by the great wealth they had created during their lives, they continued Marconi's work on solar energy, cosmic energy, and anti-gravity. Working secretly and apart from the world's nations, they built free-energy motors and ultimately "discoid aircraft" with a form of gyroscopic anti-gravity.

There have been many reports of UFOs in South America, especially along the edge of the mountainous jungles of the eastern Andes, from Bolivia to Venezuela. Is it possible that some of these UFOs are anti-gravity craft from the Ciudad Subterranean de los Andes?

His guide, Tatunca Nara, went on to become Jacques Cousteau's guide on the upper Amazon. In fact, photographs of Tatunca Nara appear in Cousteau's large coffee-table book of color photographs called Cousteau's Amazon Journey.

While the idea of secret cities in South America manufacturing flying saucers and battling the current powers of the world from their hidden jungle fortresses may sound too much like the plot of a James Bond movie, it appears to be rooted in fact! Based upon the above scenario, it may not be totally fantastic to suggest, as some authors have, that Tesla was picked up during the late 1930s by a flying saucer. Yet it would not have been a flying saucer from another planet, but one of Marconi's craft from the secret city in South America.

In the most incredible scenario so far, and one that may well be true, Tesla was induced to fake his own death, just as Marconi and many of the other scientists had done, and was taken, by special discoid craft, to Marconi's high-tech super-city. Away from the outside world, the military governments, the oil companies, the arms and aircraft manufacturers, Marconi and Tesla, both supposedly dead, continued their experiments in an atmosphere conducive to scientific achievement.

Who knows what they may have achieved? They were ten years ahead of the Germans and twenty years ahead of the Americans in their anti-gravity technology. Sighting Details

This UFO sighting occured approximately 10.15pm on the evening of 28th April 2009. It was a clear still night and the stars were visible. The witness, Elaine Skidmore, had been out with a friend and was on her way home in her car. As she drove down Braithewaite Street in Kingswinford where she lives, she noticed a glowing object in the sky off to the left above the houses. She estimates that it would probably have been above High Street when she first spotted it. The object was the shape of an ice-cream lying horizontally and was glowing a constant bright orange. It was a round orb of light with a triangular cone shape coming off it to the left. It was low down in the sky below the cloud layer, about the height a helicopter would fly at. Elaine had no idea of its size but said that it looked quite big as she was viewing it at a distance. The object was moving very slowly to the right on a straight path.

She arrived home and got out of the car to continue watching the object from her drive. It was at this point that she realised it was completely silent. She watched it for over 5 minutes as it passed slowly across the end of the road. Once it had reached the side she was on, it suddenly appeared to stop moving and the cone shape completely vanished. It now looked just like a round orb of orange light. This remained stationary for several minutes and then appeared to slowly get smaller and smaller until it had completely vanished. Elaine waited several more minutes to see if the object would reappear but it did not.

The unusual shape of the object seen in this incident is very interesting. The sighting does have some aspects that fit in with the object being a Chinese lantern. It moved very slow and on a straight path so could well have been drifting in the wind (The witness informed me it was a still night but there could still have been a light breeze higher up). Certainly the colour of the object fits the lantern theory, and when the object got smaller and smaller this could have been it burning out. However usually lanterns are seen just as round orange/white glowing orbs, they do not have other shapes sticking out of them. Elaine insists that the cone shaped part of the object looked solid rather than a trail of light or fire behind it. It is also common for numerous lanterns to be launched together rather than solitary. There is the possibility that it was not a lantern but instead some sort of lit up balloon. Mrs Dearing, of Bedale Avenue, off Southcoates Lane, was bringing in her washing before the storms hit on Monday night, when she was amazed to see moving lights and shapes in the sky.

She took these snaps from her garden looking towards the Humber.

Mrs Dearing says she is convinced the lights were a UFO.

She said: "It was almost a fan-shaped object, half the size of the moon. It was so bright.

"I dashed in to get my camera and when I looked up again the object was beginning to move in a clockwise circular motion. Then it dropped sharply downwards and then back upwards.
