Some decades ago, there was ufological research on the field, but today, as Dr. Michael Salla recognized, everything can be found in the internet.
The term "UFO" (or "UFOB") was officially created in 1953 by the of U.S. Air Force (USAF) to replace the words "discs", "saucers" and even "flying cigars". You should be careful with this, because sooner or later you will need to write about conspiracy theory, and remember: always the imaginary cover-up is responsible for the total absence of evidences.
Honestly I don't know if this will work, but please..! Do not think in old-fashioned and outdated elements like the "men in black". After a few comedies, men in black are finished in Ufology. Also, you should be very careful with the ET abductions, because soon abductions will be totally obsolete. Just touch Betty and Barney Hill "experience" if necessary.
However, forget everything about George Adamski, the contactee who, decades ago, made various claims about his meetings with telepathic aliens from nearby planets. It's not necessary to write about handsome aliens from Venus, even if you use several times the name of Tesla and the word "quantum". Nobody will believe you.
Also, put out of your mind the "anonymous sources". This doesn't work anymore and your reader probably will want his/her money back.By the way, be extremely careful with the Roswell UFO crash. Hundreds of books and magazines and videos talk about the Roswell incident...enough is enough! Your book will look pathetic. So, what remains is just imagination. Yes, I know that imagination and some nice graphics are not enough for a best-seller.
Truth is that I don't want to waste your time or mine. How about writing something else? Think about spiritual advice, cosmic alchemy, tarot or a dreaming guide, and forget about UFOs.
