I was sitting outside looking up at the stars when I saw a light traveling SE at a slow rate (compared to a shooting star), it was smaller than the stars and not extremely bright (which made me feel it was further than the stars I had been examining) it did not flash and there were no red or green lights flashing. It went slowly across the sky and I had to keep blinking to keep track of it. I watched closely because it looked as if it were going to hit a star and then it veered and the was gone. A few minutes later I saw an airplane (flashing red and green lights going north).
