I watched the Monsterquest episodes when they put the Patterson film to computer analysis in an attempt to prove it, or debunk it. They had some athlete guy try to mimic the motions of the sasquatch on the film. They claimed he could not do it. That seems kind of strange. Is not walking, just walking? This image of how easy that would have been came from a six year old book!
I have only been around the bigfoot world for a little over a year. What I have found out is there is no governing body. Unlike the UFO people with MUFON, that train researchers to do investigations, nothing like this exist in the bigfoot community, and that I believe is at the heart of the problem, and leads to the perpetuation of the bigbfoot folklore and not the advancement of science.
There are only factions that are trying to put their work out as the purist, or most scientific all the while not really finding much evidence. And they seem to be very jealous of all others. The biggest group is a very closed society called BFRO. They do not except members, and do everything in secret yet wanting people for some reason to think they are best at this.
Considering how long they have been around, why did it take an independent researcher to uncover some interesting stuff. Greg Long, in his book - The Making Of Bigfoot - The Inside Stroy analysis the whole episode leading up to the Patterson/Gimlin film. The work is very extensive and complex. It puts together a story of lies and deceit and an attempt by a shady dude (patterson) to get a big payday. What I find interesting is the Patterson film itself.
Supporters of the film say that no human could reproduce the gait of the animal. Is that so? Bob Heironimus (shown in the photo above) claims he was the one wearing the suit that day Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlim faked the film. This photo shows that when put to scale, the creature was a little over six feet and the same height as Heirominus. Very strange that BFRO does not have this on their website.

Occasionally I find myself in extremely odd circumstances due to the nature of my interests. Recently I found myself in the middle of an argument between one of the real time abductees I have been writing about and one of her longtime friends who is an avid UFO enthusiast.
The exchange between the abductee and the enthusiast took place while we were out to lunch at a crowded beach front restaurant on the ocean side of Long Island New York. The lunch had been a peaceful lovely afternoon enjoying a delicious meal overlooking a beautiful blue sky over a sandy beach and blue ocean. The conversation had been of vacation plans, family as well as a long talk about the Long Island serial killer who still is loose and wandering our Island roadways.
I excused myself from the table for a few minutes to call my home and walked out to the open veranda that wrapped around the restaurant to use my cell phone. I was only gone a few minutes and was surprised to return to the two friends in a heated debate concerning war between aliens and humans. Since I was not there when the discussion began I have no idea how the subject even got started. I sat down and listened as the abductee and enthusiast had one of the strangest conversations I ever heard two friends have.
The enthusiast was angry and telling the abductee that the day will come when aliens will attack the human race to use us for fuel, or food, or slaves ( the enthusiast was a bit all over the place with the reasons for the alien attack ) and it was only time before this happened and the outcome would be our doom.
The abductee sat there stone faced listening to her friend with such intensity I thought steam was going to rise from her head. I sat silently trying to figure out how to get out of this mess! In the mean time I tried to disappear in to my chair.
The enthusiast went on to describe a war of the world's resulting in combat around the globe between aliens and humans. Occasionally the abductee would mutter, "that is ridiculous' however her friend continued on with her long passionate description of a very movie like soon to come world war of aliens flying low above the earths surface while humans try to defend against them with the weapons we currently have available to us. The abductee allowed her friend to continue this huge involved story of her idea of an alien / human war without interruption. Now and then she would laugh or shake her head but let her friend spill her guts about the entire concept.
I have either read or heard over the different media airways all the things the enthusiast was saying and knew this theory was widely discussed with those interested in the UFO alien subject. I also know the abductee and wanted to dissolve in to my chair as I knew she was going to blast her friend and her ideas concerning her interpretation of a war of the worlds.
The enthusiast talked endlessly about how mankind may soon find they are going to be forced to fight invading alien forces in a fight over who will control earth. She talked about how mankind will fight using all our newest weapons during long tedious battles with alien forces who want to overtake and use the human species for food or fuel or slaves. She talked about how only the humans who go underground will remain to fight off the invading aliens forces. She went on to describe how the fight will end by way of the humans fighting the aliens in gorilla style tactics including sneaking up on alien crafts using balloons to lift them into their interiors where the human warriors will be able to overtake and destroy the alien forces. She talked as if in a hypnotic state how a small group of the human warriors would in this manner defeat the aliens and return to build a new human race upon the earth. This is the point where the abductee could no longer maintain her reaction and burst out laughing at her enthusiast friend's fantasy scenario of an alien/human conflict of war.
The abductee shook her head in amazement and asked her friend if she was serious or pulling her leg with such nonsense? Her friend immediately became insulted and defensive. The abductee sat looking at her friend as if she was the strangest thing she had ever seen and finally said:"Ok I cannot let you walk around thinking something so ridiculous as it seems to have gotten out of hand and you seem to be lost in the fantasy and confusion of the paranormal that seems to be prevalent in our society.
"First of all you need to understand that sadly in our society things we consider paranormal, or supernatural or unknown are simply things mankind has not yet figured out or understand. A huge problem with the subjects we consider unknowns are that we have completely combined confused and destroyed our own thinking about these subjects with fiction and fantasy. Science fiction is not paranormal, horror movies about sexy vampires become confused with reality while reality is lost to the fantasy of Hollywood. Star Wars was a great movie however reality is that it is doubtful all life forms in our universe could sit together in a bar sharing a drink simply due to the simple fact of atmosphere differences.Humans have built a cute little comfy world where they live in fantasy about many unknowns. I realize it is one way to deal with that which we do not understand however I also think it is just going too far. Here I sit listening to you rattle off pure fantasy as fact and you're doing it with a straight face."
The enthusiast was not happy and started to interrupt her abductee friend to defend her position on alien- human warfare. The abductee would not have it and told her friend to sit and listen as she had to her long rant on the war of the worlds.
"The view you have of this conflict is absolutely childish. Do you truly believe that beings that are advanced enough to visit us in the manner they do with ease and obvious control over the situation would have to physically fight with us? Do you really think that if they wanted to take, use or have anything at all more than they do now from us they would need to have to fight us for it? Do you seriously think the advanced beings that visit us would need to become involved with us in any type of war event? "
The abductee was obviously annoyed with her longtime friend and her UFO enthusiast friend was showing signs of anger with the abductee's questions. The enthusiast tried to defend her thinking by launching into a memorized scenario once again about mankind in hand to hand combat with invading alien forces. The abductee raised her hand abruptly stopping her enthusiast friend from continuing her rant. The abductee spoke:
"Stop, this nonsense- I had no idea you became so confused between what is logical and probable and what is fantasy. You are lost in the delusion of fiction that has been developed through fear of those who are in need of that kind of fantasy in order to digest the UFO situation on earth. You have given over to science fiction as fact and have started to believe the nonsense that flows from Hollywood and our TV providers. "
"Look chances are if the beings who visit this planet and abduct some humans for specimen study wanted to control or inhabit this earth they would have done it long ago. If the beings who are here wanted more from us they would have taken it long ago when we were even more defenseless than we are now. If those watching us wanted to help us they would have done so before we were able to do so much damage to our own kind. If their purpose was our welfare they would have openly interfered, helped, taken us over or whatever theory exists concerning these things- long ago. They are here for their own reasons and -we simply are not as important to them as we think we are. The great human delusion is that this planet and the primitive earthlings living on it are somehow of great importance to the other life forms that exist and view or visit us as they traverse this enormous universe. "
"First of all there are billions of planets around billions of stars in billions of galaxies. Our little planet may be important to us but it is doubtful it is of any great importance to our cosmic neighbors. Mankind has placed a huge amount of importance on the alien human relationship. Mankind seems to think we are very sort after and of huge concern to our visitors. I am confused at this thinking as we have obviously been shown that is not the case. Our visitors do not care to be known to us on a global scale. If that was their wish we would know it. All they would need to do is make a worldwide sighting visible over highly populated areas to be known to mankind. Instead they do not seem to care if they are at times seen or not. As it stands we do nothing but act like fools when we do see them. I do not think we are a concern to them. The most we do is make another movie or TV show to entertain us. Nothing more is done about their visits and they know it. Humans have a few quirks that make it easy to keep them in the dark. Humans have selective hearing, thinking and comprehension. Humans only hear, think about or form opinions on the selective material that fits in with what they want life and the world around us to be. Facts or real science are often ignored or denied as it does not fit in with the delusion the human population needs to deal with things they do not understand. It is most likely our greatest fault and what keeps us locked as the dummies of the universe. This quirk keeps us locked in bad scenarios across the globe and locked in the dark with issues we should have long ago solved. The UFO subject is one of those areas".
"We continue to kill each other, suffer through natural disasters and in many areas on this planet starve or die from disease. I think if our visitors wanted to take us over or help us they could and would have done so by now. They do watch us, they do use some of us but their interest in the human species seems limited."
"But please let us get back to your thinking about war with aliens. This fantasy by my fellow humans is disturbing to me.How we ever got lost in this fantasy that we would ever be able to fight aliens is beyond me. What is worse is that we have groups of people lost in this delusion that we could not only fight but could become road warrior hero's combating and taking on aliens by crawling in to their ships and winning by way of hand to hand combat. This childish nonsense coming from grown adults frightens me far more than the idea of a war of the worlds! If we are this limited in our thinking about things unknown we are in deep dark trouble."

I am sure it would be a simple matter of using technology closer to the Haarp projects that we are beginning to understand. If they wanted to control us they would render us helpless by using a technology that would either take over our ability to think clearly enabling them to order us about or simply completely control us in a manner without involving any combat at all. They would of course be able to completely destroy all life on this planet if they so desired by pushing a button from far above the earth's surface. In fact they could wipe us out, disinfect or decontaminate our planet all from miles above the surface or maybe the dark side of our moon. To think they would even need to fly around in any form of combat at all is really silly. The fact that this has not happened so far makes me a firm believer it will not happen any time soon. I am afraid the guerrilla warfare between cave dwelling earthlings and aliens will have to remain where it belongs, in the movies."
At this point in the lunch date I sat silently between the angry friends knowing that opening my mouth would surely be a very foolish thing to do. The abductee sat glaring at her friend. The enthusiast friend sat with eyes filled with tears. Finally the enthusiast started to cry. She was angry and snarled at the abductee:
"Well you have taken away all hope with your views now haven't you? At least thinking we could fight gives us all some hope. In your mind it is just death."
This seemed to make the abductee far angrier than she was before. She immediately stopped her friend from continuing with her tearful objections.
"Look, the only one here who has no hope is you and those who think like you. In your thinking the only way we can deal with a conflict with other beings is with war. Did it ever occur to you that you and those who think like you can only dream up fighting and killing and war as the result of a human alien contact? It seems unless we talk about how the alien beings should be here to help us and give us technology we then jump to how we would fight them. We are savage self-centered beings. We only seem concerned about what we can get from our visitors and if that is not possible how we can kill them"..
"I think what we need is to focus on what we need to do to become interesting and respected by other life forms so they will one day look at us as more than specimens or primitive beings. Who would want to be involved with primitive creatures like humans who spend most of our time in wars killing and over taking each other? Who would want to become involved with a planet where its inhabitants are constantly in conflict with each other? Look at this planet and look at how some of us have food shelter and medical care while others are starving, children dying and forced to live in savage circumstances. What do you think those who watch us think when we build bombs and use them on each other? How about the fact we kill due to the fact we are too stupid to figure out our energy requirements. Do you really think other beings who are far more advanced want anything to do with us other than what they do now? Maybe one day when we have our own act together and grow past being selfish killing machines we may be more interesting to those around us. For now we are primitive and violent. Until we understand that fact we need not worry about fighting fictional wars with those who could wipe us out with a sneeze."
The enthusiast did something next that really surprised me. She stood up and snarled at the abductee: "Well the things you want to happen are never going to happen and - I think you are ridiculous. ". Quickly the abductee asked the enthusiast: " Why is that ridiculous,why are those things not going to happen?" The enthusiast snickered back: "That is all just too hard and will never happen." With that she stood up and announced she was leaving and walked away. The abductee and I were left sitting at the table as well as holding the bill for lunch!
I only noticed after the enthusiast walked away from the table that the people around us had all been listening to the exchange between the two friends and the strange subject of an alien /human conflict. I could tell by the silence that things had been said that gave many sitting there eating lunch insight to things they ordinarily would not think about. I also know the abductee had spoken hard cold truth about these subjects and realized by way of the enthusiast's convoluted thinking how far we have drifted from logical thinking due to confusion and combining of science fiction fantasy with what is more likely the hard cold facts of advanced science and our less advanced understanding of it.
One day I hope, without being vaporized or harmed, we do come to the real truth and understanding of what lies beyond our limited thinking and knowledge of all the subjects we now consider unknowns. I must say I agree fully with the abductee on the subjects discussed at this luncheon. I also found it very disheartening that the UFO enthusiast felt our dealing with being human without war or our path towards ending things like starvation, disease and energy problems on earth as " Never going to happen or just too hard" a sad statement and one I hope that we all need to think about. For now this experience like many others I have had with the paranormal world and our thinking about it cements the fact we remain lost in the dark ages when it comes to the subjects we consider unknown!
