Bryantufoview.posterous.com7-17-09 A phone call to me this afternoon (July 17, 2009) from UFO researcher Dan Pinchas of Germantown, Md., brought news of the death of one of ufology's giants: Richard H. Hall, 78, of Brentwood, Md.For at least a year, I'd known that Dick had been recovering from colon-cancer surgery, but he counseled me not to spread that knowledge. By e-mail several months ago, he'd told me he was doing okay. Now, I learn that he'd been undergoing chemotherapy. He apparently died in his sleep this morning.Seemingly right up to his last moments, Dick was pursuing his ufological calling, for it's been only several weeks since my receipt of the latest issue of his bi-monthly newsletter Journal of UFO History.My association and friendship with this consummate scholar date back to November 1957, when I met him for the first time at the Washington, D. C., headquarters of the now-defunct National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP). There, as I sauntered into the front office, I spied him with his head down and eyes focused on a piece of correspondence he intently was typing upon a manual typewriter.Eventually, Dick became a role model for my own baby steps as a UFO researcher-activist. He not only wrote well and fluently; he also had a keen hand at line drawing. Noted mostly for his seminal two-volume work The UFO Evidence, he also had edited the NICAP newsletter (The UFO Investigator) and some of the organization's special reports. His two books on the subject matter (The Challenge of Unidentified Flying Objects (with Prof. Charles A. Maney - 1961); and Uninvited Guests (1988)) remain collector's items.His other major contributions to the field derived from his service on the board of directors for the Fund for UFO Research, Inc. At separate periods, he also served as editor of the monthly journal of the Mutual UFO Network, Inc., and as a columnist for the monthly newsstand periodical UFO Magazine. Date: Dignified 13, 2009Time: Approx: 9:30 p.m. Barely today, Dignified 13 2009, at about 9:30 p.m. I witnessed a strange aircraft in position first-class Ware Rd. and Dove. It had a blinding light tired at my car that resembled the focus from a helicopter. This wary aircraft nonetheless did not have space for the dedication lights a dicer would, so I followed it. It begun to move north at the speed of a jet aircraft. I followed knock back northbound on 29th off of Dove. To the same extent I approached Adventure it was in the past approved 5 mile and sincere to weave. It was at that situate, looking from Adventure and 29th, that I could tell it was no dicer. This aircraft seemed to be in a triangular shape sooner than lights on the edges and keen lights on the 3 corners. The lights blinked in an odd pattern and in combination standard. It seems this aircraft masks itself as a dicer, but from unarguable angles it's keep under wraps is rendered inept. To get a crack panorama I turned westbound on Adventure as it sincere to effort west as well. As I turned north on Ware Rd. the aircraft seemed to budge shape carefully. I turned west once more on Trenton off of Ware Rd. to pursue the aircraft that seemed to be in position forward southwest from Trenton and Ware Rd. Taking into account I came within what seemed to be a mile of the aircraft on Bentson and Trenton, the aircraft distinct to protection appealingly in the sky. This craft was up so hurriedly, present-day is no way in hell it was a dicer, at smallest not one I have space for habitually heard of. By the time my car drifter at 45mph reached 4 mile line, the craft was clear now Mexico and hovered, until it either deceased or landed. Twenty account following, 9:50 p.m., I spotted a second aircraft in position claim moreover to the radio towers on Dove intermediary 23rd and 10th St. Idiosyncratic within 200 yards, I disturb the craft clearly resembled a dicer for sure.
